An exciting opportunity has arisen at Control Union in Tokyo, Japan for an RSPO AUDITOR.

As an Auditor for RSPO (The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), you will be responsible for the application of implementation of sustainable production practices, which is designed to be used by palm oil growers and millers.

The principal objective of RSPO is to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil through cooperation within the supply chain and open dialogue between stakeholders.

The position requires strong communication. Applicants must have good knowledge of the agriculture/ecology/social science industry. You will be initiating and conducting on site audit activities at our clients. You will be responsible for the document review as well as preparing and distributing your audit findings in an audit report.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Auditing
  • Sampling
  • Verification and review of documents
  • Reporting audit results
  • Conducting audit follow-up
  • Maintaining good relationship with the clients
  • Responding to function-related requests from clients
  • Internal coordination and coordinating with the clients
  • Assistance with handling of claims & appeals
  • Maintaining up-to-date files in the system + hardcopy as per procedures
  • Keeping abreast of developments, issues and legislative changes pertaining to agriculture/ecology/social science and related sectors

Requirements

  • Post-high school/secondary school training in related disciplines, such as agriculture, environment science or social sciences
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant work area (e.g. palm oil management, agriculture, ecology; social science)
  • Experience and knowledge of quality assurance/ quality control would be preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of certification schemes would be an added advantage
  • Good command of Japanese & English: in speech and in writing
  • Excellent report writing, presentation skills in English
  • Resourceful, fast learner with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10-12 days per month) within Japan
