Project Manager Auditing Services (Agriculture/Food Products)

London or Birmingham

Control Union in the United Kingdom has an excellent opportunity as Project Manager, preferably in London or Birmingham. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for setting up a new auditing unit and ensuring that the project is organized and run to schedule. Coordinating the activities efficiently, ensuring exceptional client service, working with other departments for support, working closely with management to make sure that the scope and direction of the project is on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate must also be adaptable to change and be able to prioritize workloads according to changing daily requirements and both internal and external challenges.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the setup of field services units
  • Support the recruitment of staff
  • Coordinate auditing and administration activities
  • Ensure optimal use of available resources
  • Be the key point of contact for stakeholders across the project, at all stages of the process
  • Maintain close relationships with clients
  • Attend periodical meetings with clients and partners to provide comprehensive updates on the project
  • Ensure that all priorities are raised with the relevant department as soon as they arise and monitor progress until resolved to ensure on time delivery
  • Ensure that all technical queries raised by the clients are passed on to the relevant internal contact and resolvd in line with the client's expectations 


  • At least 7 years experience within the audits and certifications sector is essential, ideally with an operations or projects management role
  • Background in compliance assurance or auditing services
  • Proven experience in effective and efficient project delivery is essential
  • B.Sc / MSc (on a business or scientific discipline)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of certification programs, in specific Organic certifications and agricultural/food related
  • A dynamic, flexible, pro-active team player, with excellent project management skills
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills
  • Good people skills for building relationships with clients, partners and colleagues at all levels
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • The ability to plan and priorities your own work and other people's
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis (national and international)
