A vacancy has arisen for a Marine Advisor (part time hours) with time on/time off rotation. The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient, effective and quality driven service delivery from the Marine Department. You will assist in the development of Marine Technical and Assurance Services with existing and new clients, whilst assisting and supporting other members of the team.

Responsibilities include carrying out Marine Technical work and Assurance, managing technical resources, creating and maintaining the on-call rota and Marine Business Unit Development. Marine Operational duties include, overseeing mobilisation and demobilisation of vessels in port and providing expert Marine input into HAZIDs and Risk Assessments.

Seagoing experience is essential, preferred candidates will have Marine experience in a managerial role and as a Senior Deck or Engineering Officer on OSV’s and possess a minimum of STCW II/2 or III/2 (Unlimited) certificate of competency. Experience of incident investigation and DP systems is also required.

      Qualifications and experience
Seagoing experience is essential, preferred candidates will have shoreside marine experience in a managerial role.
  • Minimum STCW II/2 or  III/2 (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
  • Experience as Senior Deck or Engineering Officer on OSV’s.
  • Incident investigation experience
  • Experience of DP systems, use and certification
  • Shore side vessel inspection and auditing experience
  • Management experience
  • Experience in business management
  • Full DPO Certificate or DP Maintenance
  • Accredited OVID inspector
  • Accredited Vessel Inspector
  • MWS experience
