Job function/Scope 

 Create and lead the strategic direction and operations of group wide learning and development initiatives across Peterson and Control Union.   Includes working with Management Team members and regional teams to establish and deliver key learning deliverables and solutions applicable to all regions and align those initiatives created for internal delivery and potential revenue streams in external academy activities.  


Roles & responsibilities:
 

  • Create, plan, and deliver Global Academy learning and development strategies aligned to our core service lines,  and overall business and talent management strategies 
  • Engage closely with key internal and external stakeholders to establish global/regional learning needs, associated delivery platforms and create a culture of continuous development  
  • Identify key performance indicators, Return on Investment (ROI) and report regularly to MT and regional teams 
  • Provide guidance and support to regional management and HR teams in the delivery of identified global learning objectives and provide the leadership to ensure consistent delivery 
  • Identify RPCU knowledge and expertise and deliver those which can be converted into profitable revenue stream.  Actively market learning solutions, ensuring that the regional teams and local delivery offices are empowered to sell consistent academy activities across the group. 
  • Design and deliver learning solutions with regional teams to ensure fit-for-purpose, deliver high standards and value for money for internal and external stakeholders 
  • Work closely with global communication teams to deliver professional branding to any solutions taken to market  
  • Ensure learning solutions reflect positively on bottom line results 
  • Lead in the creation of high-level leadership development, driving a continuous learning and coaching culture which prepares our future leaders  
  • Ensure learning and development strategies are evident across regions and are focused on current and future talent and succession 
  • Support the enlistment and development of potential and existing talent from within or acquired through such routes as the global graduate and trainee schemes, as well as organization/employee performance platforms 
  • Use expertise and judgement to recommend when training and development solutions are delivered in-house, borrowed, or bought 
  • Monitor and report on development progress, adjusting and taking corrective and supportive actions as required  
  • Provide support and coaching to MT with training needs and development plans in conjunction with Global HR. Includes engaging with development subjects to keep them on track and provide mentorship to support their journey 
  • Continuously influence a culture of performance, learning and development 
  • Keep up to date with development trends, technologies/platforms, analysing potential for our business and people, introducing those solutions which can aid the effective growth of our people   
  • Analyse training and development data to ensure provision is adding value and Royal Peterson Control Union group benefits from knowledge sharing and economies of scale.   
  • Create and sustain applicable effective work- and commercial relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners accredited bodies and institutes, and other stakeholders with the mutual aim of enhancing people development and enrichment of work opportunities.

Qualifications and experience
 

 
Essential: 

  • Suitable qualification in learning and development or people management  
  • Suitable operational experience in learning and development and/or people management 
  • Experience in managing and leading teams, preferably in the field of learning and development  
  • Proven experience in the engagement of tersiary/training/development/educational institutions/bodies, as well as associated regulatory requirements 
  • Proven experience in the design and implementation training and development initiatives, solutions and platforms of delivery, as well as associated commercial expectations 
  • Experience of presenting to groups, including at senior/exco level 
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skills  
  • Responsbile for budgets, effective procurement, creation and delivery of revenue generating contracts related to the field of training and development 

Desirable:  

  • Membership of a recognised professional body in learning and development or people management
