GGL Auditor

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Control Union in Tokyo, Japan for a GGL AUDITOR. 

As an Auditor for GGL (Golden Green Label), you will be responsible for the application of implementation of zero-deforestation, protection of land with high biodiversity value and high carbon stock, protection of soil, water and air, measurement and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions etc., and regulatory requirements and principles against established standards and protocols. The position requires strong communication. Applicants must have good knowledge of the chemical/biomass/agriculture/forestry industry. You will be initiating and conducting on site audit activities at our clients. You will be responsible for the document review as well as preparing and distributing your audit findings in an audit report.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Auditing
  • Sampling
  • Verification and review of documents
  • Reporting audit results
  • Conducting audit follow-up
  • Maintaining good relationship with the clients
  • Responding to function-related requests from clients
  • Internal coordination and coordinating with the clients
  • Assistance with handling of claims & appeals
  • Maintaining up-to-date files in the system + hardcopy as per procedures
  • Keeping abreast of developments, issues and legislative changes pertaining to chemical/biomass/agriculture/forestry and related sectors


  • Post high school education (college and university) degree (minimum 2 years) in the following area, such as bachelor of science, agriculture or forestry
  • At least 3 years work experience including 2 years in the relevant work area, such as chemical/agriculture/wood and paper sectors
  • Experience and knowledge of quality assurance/ quality control would be preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of certification schemes would be an added advantage
  • Good command of Japanese & English: in speech and in writing
  • Excellent report writing, presentation skills in English
  • Resourceful, fast learner with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10-12 days per month) within Japan
