Customs Documentation Clerk
A vacancy has arisen for a Customs Documentation Clerk, on a contracted basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of customs and project logistics activities of the Peterson business. The main function is to ensure the documentation is accurate, stored, verified, and collated for all vessel, agency and cargo clearances and preparation of Shipping Bills.
The role requires close team cooperation with various coordinators, vendors, clients and regulatory bodies for this department, and a very high focus is required on the efficient and safe delivery of customs services
Compliance to all safety policies and procedures and ensuring that the delivery of service is in accordance with Peterson company requirements is a major requirement.
Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail is required to ensure that department support is prioritized according to departmental requirements and deliverables are to be achieved in accordance with outlined timelines. You will be required to support the Customs and Agency Manager and Project Manager with day-to-day project management tasks.
Applicants must have a Grade I Customs License
and at least two (2) years’ working experience in shipping and/ or Customs Brokerage sector. A Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent would be an asset.
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry will be considered an asset. Proficient in the use of Asycuda System and MS Office as well as high focus on customer service and service delivery.
Successful candidate must be able to cope in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, whilst working with multiple issues at the same time, and an ability to deal with setbacks. You must be willing to work flexible hours and possess a vehicle in good working condition and be the holder of a valid driver’s license.
