We have a requirement for Base Operative’s on a shift rota basis. The role is responsible for assisting with the preparation and loading of cargo, ensuring dispatch in accordance with company procedures. Duties include but not limited to preparing and loading cargo, slinging/bundling and general labouring duties. Applicants will have previous knowledge and experience of loading and unloading trailers/cargo. An OPITO Banksman Slinger Certificate is essential, and a 12t RTITB Forklift licence would be desirable.

Requirments
Loading / Discharging Vessels / Trailers / Containers / Backload:

• Comply with the procedures regarding the loading and unloading of vessels

Ensure effective communications with Boat Foreman and Quayside Supervisor as and when required
Assist with the backload cargo dispatch process ensuring cargo backload managed and dispatched according to company procedures

Work Instructions / Procedures:

Comply with all relevant company work instructions and procedures for each job function. Suggest any improvements to improve service delivery and amend work instructions
