Auditor Food Safety


Control Union currently has immediate openings for Auditors to help grow our expertise in certifications and the execution of associated audit activities across our organization.

Whilst ensuring food safety, quality and legality at growing operations and food manufacturing services around the world, Control Union Certifications provides third-party audits against the main GFSI and other international food safety standards, e.g.ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, BRC Food, BRC Storage & Distribution, BRC Agents and Brokers, BRC Packaging, GMP+ etc.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Food Safety Auditor you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing the conformity of operations against established international food safety standards and regulations.
  • Carrying out third party food safety audits at food facilities within the supply chain
  • Ensure customer compliance with established certification standards by visiting our clients on site and examining records, reports, operating practices and documentation
  • Communicating audit findings by preparing a final report and discuss the findings with auditees in accordance with management system auditing requirements as stipulated in ISO17021 or ISO17065.

This position therefore require individuals with excellent communication skills who can initiate, conduct and review all relevant audit activities, whilst maintaining and developing client relationships. Being up to date with the latest local and national regulations in connection with your work is critical to the successful delivery of this position.


  • Bachelor degree required in food science, food technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the food industry (Production/Quality/R&D)
  • Preferably IRCA, or equivalent, recognized Lead Auditor training and qualification in ISO 22000
  • Preferably HACCP Course of minimum 2 days duration
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standard systems and certification would be an advantage
  • Good command of English (oral and written)
  • Interviewing and report writing skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively (domestic and international)
