 An exciting opportunity has arisen at Control Union (U.S.A.), Inc. Commodity Inspections for an Assistant Manager of cargo inspection.

As an assistant manager you will be responsible for the quality of our operations in the USA. With your excellent organization skills you will supervise the inspectors by training, monitoring, and assisting them when needed. You have a hands-on mentality and work together with our team based in New Orleans.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the procurement processes
  • Responsible for the equipment used in the field 
  • Responsible for calibration of equipment
  • Monitoring, Training, Assisting field personnel as needed
  • Handle customer feedback; questions, concerns, complaints
  • Making SOP’s / Inspection Requirements
  • Implementation and training of revised or new standards in the organization and manuals

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience required in field of cargo surveying
  • Knowledgeable of the following standards and protocols
    • ISO / ASTM standards
    • FGIS Protocols / GAFTA Protocols – Grain Grading practices
    • FOSFA protocols
    • International standards for sampling / inspection of bulk cargoes
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
